Living through homesickness, still learning how to cope. One important lesson learnt is that at its core, it's about feeling secure. Funny how this only occurred to me last night, at 3 a.m. just as I was forcing my eyes to shut after revising for my final paper this morning. I have developed a bad habit of idealizing my old life, forgetting about all the annoying little things that came with it and I realized that this attitude has kept me from appreciating what I have in the present. This is a tough thing to get through but I know that understanding homesickness goes a long way toward learning how to be independent. Baby steps, Fayra.
